Esaji Naik Chivhe

The Sarnaik Esaji Chivhe (Sarnaik Yesaji Chivhe) was a Koli Sarnaik of Purandar Fort, Torna fort and Rajgarh fort and Vatandar of 17 villages an a Koli minister and a Koli commander of the of Bijapur Sultanate.
The founder and first Sultan of the Bijarpur Sultanate, was constructing the Shendri bastion at Purandar Fort, but the bastion kept collapsing. It was suspected that the fort deities of Purandar were displeased. To appease the deities, a human sacrifice was suggested, specifically the sacrifice of a married man who was the eldest son of his family.
Sultan of the Bijapur Sultanate ordered Koli Sarnaik Esaji Nayak Chivhe to find a family within the Sultanate willing to sacrifice their eldest son and his wife, regardless of the amount of wealth and gold offered in return. Esaji Nayak Chivhe convinced Nath Nayak, who was willing to offer himself as a sacrifice. Nath Nayak and his wife, Devki, were then tied to the incomplete Shendri bastion and burned alive. Following this human sacrifice, an offering of 50,000 gold bricks, each weighing 25 tolas, was made. After this sacrifice, the Shendri bastion was successfully completed and stood firm.
After the construction of the Shendri bastion, Sultan of the Bijapur Sultanate granted Purandar Fort to Esaji Nayak Chivhe. The father who sacrificed his son was given inam of two villages and awarded the title of Inamdar.
After the creation of Shendri bastion, Esaji Chivhe and Venkat Chivhe commanded the Bijapur army against Golconda Sultanate and attcked the Abdullah Qutb Shah, ahter defeating the Golconda Sultan, Esaji Chivhe was honoured with the title of Sarnaik the of Purandar fort, Rajgarh fort and Torna fort and the 6030 Bigha Vatan Zamidari in 17 villages.
After that, Sultan of Bijapur went to hunting, where Sarnaik Esaji Chivhe killed a tiger against Sultan, The Sultan of Bijapur said to Esaji Chivhe, "I am very pleased with your bravery. Tell me, Sarnaik, what do you want?" After hearing this, Esaji Chivhe said, "Sultan, I want the position of Sarnaik of Purandar fort to always be held by a person from the Koli caste, and all the land owned by the Koli people should be tax-free" And all these things should be written on a copper plate and sealed with the government seal.
