Umaji Kagadiya | Umo Kagadia

The Umo Kagadia, also known as Umaji Koli and Umaji Kagadyia, was the founder and Koli king of the town of Umrala in Bhavnagar district, Gujarat. Umaji Kagadia belonged to the Kagadia dynasty of Kolis and was the last Koli ruler of the town of Umrala. The town of Umrala in Bhavnagar district, is named after the Koli king Umaji Kagadia, and was the capital city of Umaji Kagadiya.

In 1309, when Alauddin Khilji's army killed the king of Ranpur, Ranoji Gohil, and took Ranpur under their control, Ranoji Gohil's son, Mokhadaji Gohil, fled to save his life and lived in hiding. The fugitive Mokhadaji Gohil, resorting to robbers, suddenly attacked the Koli king of Umrala, Umaji Kagadia, in 1310 and after defeating Umaji Kagadia, Mokhadaji Gohil became the king of Umrala and made Umrala his capital.

Umrala is a census town and taluka headquarters in Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, India, located 38 km west of Bhavnagar at an elevation of 37 meters. As of the 2011 census, it has a population of 8,044 (4,165 males, 3,879 females), with a literacy rate of 78.83% (86.87% male, 70.32% female) and a sex ratio of 931 females per 1,000 males.
