Mansa Koli Khant

1731 - 1732, when the Kolis defeated the Viceroy of Gujarat Sultanate and Nawab Muhammad Sher Khan Bahadur of Junagadh State and captured the Uparkot Fort and defeated the army of Junagadh State thrice.

In mid-1731, the Kolis of Junagadh State took up arms and revolted against Muslim rule under the leadership of a Koli landlord named Mansa Koli. Mansa Koli started attacking Muslim-dominated villages with Koli caravans. After which complaints reached Nawab Muhammad Sher Khan Bahadur of Junagadh that Muslims were being looted and killed by the Kolis in your princely area. After which the Junagadh Nawab ordered his commander Khan Ji Khan to suppress the Koli rebellion, but the commander of Junagadh was killed by the Kolis. After defeating the Junagadh army, the Kolis captured the Uparkot Fort of Junagadh and from there started attacking the Muslims nearby. Mansa Koli ruled the Uparkot fort for 13 months but the Nawab of Junagadh could not do anything and during this time the Junagadh state had suffered a lot of losses. The Junagadh Nawab sought help from an Arab Jamadar Sheikh Abdullah Zubaidi and the Junagadh army and the Arab Jamadar's army together attacked Mansa Koli's Uparkot fort but this time also the Kolis defeated both the armies and won. Now after this the Nawab of Junagadh had become a laughing stock so the Nawab sought more help from King Haloji Sangramsingh Jadeja of Gondal state. Now this time the army of Junagadh state, the army of Gondal state and the Arab army of Arab Jamadar Sheikh Abdullah Zubaidi together attacked Mansa Koli and defeated the Kolis and merged the Uparkot fort with Junagadh. But while fighting with the Kolis, the Nawab of Junagadh had suffered a lot of losses due to which the Nawab had to hand over some of his villages to the Arab Jamadar Sheikh Abdullah Zubaidi because many of Sheikh Abdullah Zubaidi's soldiers were killed and the Nawab was not able to give any money or help to Zubaidi.
